{"id":26382,"date":"2026-02-28T22:23:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T03:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/?p=26382"},"modified":"2026-02-28T22:23:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T03:23:14","slug":"dacapo-chamber-choirs-enchant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2026\/02\/dacapo-chamber-choirs-enchant\/","title":{"rendered":"DaCapo Chamber Choir&#8217;s &#8220;Enchant&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I attended the DaCapo Chamber Choir&#8217;s concert &#8220;Enchant.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the program:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Passing of the Year &#8211; Jonathan Dove*<\/li>\n<li>Noche de Lluvia &#8211; Sid Robinovitch*<\/li>\n<li>Moonset &#8211; Jeff Enns<\/li>\n<li>O Bide in that Country (premiere) &#8211; Kento Stratford<\/li>\n<li>Sonata no. 14 &#8220;Moonlight Sonata&#8221; first movement &#8211; Ludwig van Beethoven*<\/li>\n<li>Grandmother Moon &#8211; Eleanor Daley<\/li>\n<li>Constellation &#8211; Frank Ticheli<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Catherine Robertson joined the choir for two pieces plus one of her own.<\/p>\n<p>The Robinovitch had a tango feeling to it, unusual for the choir but delightful. It&#8217;s always nice to hear Beethoven, and it&#8217;s even more unusual for a DaCapo concert &#8211; in fact this might be the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Len Enns, director of the choir, chooses pieces with sublime harmonies and the choir is masterful at bringing them to life.
