{"id":26398,"date":"2026-05-02T22:15:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T02:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/?p=26398"},"modified":"2026-05-03T17:34:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T21:34:36","slug":"dacapo-chamber-choirs-preserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2026\/05\/dacapo-chamber-choirs-preserve\/","title":{"rendered":"DaCapo Chamber Choir&#8217;s &#8220;Preserve&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I attended the DaCapo Chamber Choir&#8217;s concert &#8220;Preserve.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the program:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pan from Six Metamorphoses after Ovid &#8211; Benjamin Britten\n<ul>\n<li>oboe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Another Spring &#8211; Tom Nazziola<\/li>\n<li>Everything &#8211; Rodney Sharman<\/li>\n<li>This Fragile Web &#8211; Christine Donkin\n<ul>\n<li>with violin &amp; piano<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Taiga &#8211; Leonard Enns\n<ul>\n<li>with oboe &amp; strings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Rose &#8211; Ola Gjeilo\n<ul>\n<li>with piano &amp; strings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The oboist was Jim Mason, the pianist was Catherine Robertson, and the string players were Gwyneth Thomson, Nora Pellerin, Rebecca Diderrich, and Miriam Stewart-Kroeker.<\/p>\n<p>Although all the pieces were new to me, each one had something magnificent about it.<\/p>\n<p>The piece that made the biggest impact was the Enns &#8211; it was the longest one, arranged in 5 movements. It was a premiere.<\/p>\n<p>The choir is directed by Len Enns.
