Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight — Duel<\/strong> (Annual #1) by Denny O’Neil, published in 1991<\/p>\n

Batman returns to the monastery high in the mountains in Korea where he learned many things years ago. The master invites him to open a door. He ends up in a strange cavern where he’s attacked by different creatures and meets dangers and temptations. He steps through portals and ends up in different places and times.<\/p>\n

It’s nice that Batman uses his wits but the things that happen are a bit random. The ending is good, though.<\/p>\n

The artwork is good, done by a variety of people including Joe Quesada and Ty Templeton. The cover by Mike Mignola is terrific.<\/p>\n
