I just want to connect. Why can&#8217;t I connect with people? Oh, right, it&#8217;s because I&#8217;m dead.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>R is a zombie. He doesn&#8217;t remember the rest of his name and he doesn&#8217;t remember how the apocalypse happened. But he know that if he eats the brain of a human he will get their memories, and that makes him feel more human. When he eats the brain of Julie&#8217;s boyfriend he feels like protecting her instead of eating her. But she&#8217;s a human and he&#8217;s a zombie, so things might not work out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warm Bodies<\/strong> was released earlier this year. I don&#8217;t normally watch zombie movies but I saw the first few minutes of this one a few weeks ago and thought it was very funny.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out it&#8217;s a hilarious movie all the way through. Like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2013\/02\/lost-season-6\/\"><strong>Lost<\/strong><\/a>, if you expect all your plot questions to be answered you&#8217;ll be disappointed. But if you suspend your disbelief the movie delivers on themes of friendship, love, and trying to be better than you are.<\/p>\n<p>The three main actors &#8212; Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, and Rob Corddry &#8212; do an amazing job at making the world seem real and making us care about them.<\/p>\n<p>The soundtrack is populated by various pop songs.<\/p>\n<p>Nicholas Hoult (<strong>About a Boy<\/strong>) plays R and Teresa Palmer (<strong>I Am Number Four<\/strong>) plays Julie. Rob Corddry (<strong>Hot Tub Time Machine<\/strong>) plays R&#8217;s friend M and John Malkovich (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2013\/01\/the-great-buck-howard\/\"><strong>The Great Buck Howard<\/strong><\/a>) plays Julie&#8217;s father.<\/p>\n<p>The movie was directed by Jonathan Levine (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2012\/03\/the-wackness\/\"><strong>The Wackness<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{5\/5} &#8220;What am I doing with my life?
