Which is fine, I get it. But neither of you are what I need. You&#8217;re just wasting my time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tessa is 17 years old and dying of leukemia. She&#8217;s understandably angry, and the people around her aren&#8217;t always helpful. She makes a list of things to do before she dies &#8212; she wants to break the law, ski down a mountain, be famous, do drugs, date, and have sex. She has fun with her old friend Zoey and her new friend Adam, who lives next door.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now Is Good<\/strong> was released in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The performances are very real. The trajectory of the story is profoundly sad but there are moments of levity.<\/p>\n<p>It reminded me a bit of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/the-big-c-season-4\/\"><strong>The Big C<\/strong><\/a> &#8212; both Tessa and Cathy stop chemo because it&#8217;s making them feel worse.<\/p>\n<p>Dakota Fanning (<strong>Push<\/strong>) plays Tessa, and is mesmerizing as always.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Irvine (<strong>War Horse<\/strong>) plays Adam and Kaya Scodelario (<strong>Moon<\/strong>) plays Zoey. Olivia Williams (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2012\/11\/the-ghost-writer\/\"><strong>The Ghost Writer<\/strong><\/a>) plays Tessa&#8217;s mom and Paddy Considine (<strong>The Bourne Ultimatum<\/strong>) plays Tessa&#8217;s dad.<\/p>\n<p>The movie was directed by Ol Parker (<strong>Imagine Me &amp; You<\/strong>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{4.5\/5} &#8220;One of you is this cancer obsessive and the other one can&#8217;t face showing up at the hospital.
