In 1962 in Britain everyone is worried about a nuclear war. Ginger and Rosa are best friends who do everything together, having fun and trying new things. They’re the type of friends who often laugh when they look at each other. At the same time, they realize that the world is a serious place. Rosa takes Ginger to church, and Ginger takes Rosa to a ban-the-bomb meeting. Then something happens that threatens to tear them apart.<\/p>\n
Ginger & Rosa<\/strong> was released in 2012.<\/p>\n It’s about\u00a0young people figuring out who they want to be and what’s important to them.<\/p>\n What do you do when someone close to you does something that you\u00a0feel is unthinkable?<\/p>\n Ginger is a poet, and you sometimes hear her reading her poems.<\/p>\n There are fun parts, but it’s also fairly serious. This is a subtle movie, with fabulous acting from the leads.<\/p>\n The soundtrack is jazz and pop music appropriate to the time period.<\/p>\n Elle Fanning (Super 8<\/strong>) plays Ginger and Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures<\/strong>) plays Rosa.<\/p>\n Christina Hendricks (Detachment<\/strong><\/a>) and Alessandro Nivola (Janie Jones<\/strong><\/a>)\u00a0play Ginger’s parents.
