Charlie’s aunt was killed in an accident and his best friend committed suicide a few months ago. Now he’s starting high school — most of the kids either ignore him or treat him badly. He makes two friends, though — Patrick, an older student from his shop class, and Sam, Patrick’s stepsister. They take him to a party, where the kids call themselves wallflowers, and to Rocky Horror<\/strong>. Charlie likes Sam, but will he be able to tell her?<\/p>\n The Perks of Being a Wallflower<\/strong> was released in 2012.<\/p>\n It’s about growing up, friendship, love, and getting help when you need it.<\/p>\n The three leads are all fabulous — watching Emma Watson, you won’t be thinking about Hermione Granger once.<\/p>\n Wisdom from Charlie’s English teacher: “We accept the love we think we deserve.”<\/p>\n This is an amazing movie — even if you don’t usually watch “this type of movie,” I encourage you to seek it out.<\/p>\n The soundtrack is filled with pop songs.<\/p>\n
