Jane works for a private security firm. Her new assignment is to infiltrate an anarchist group known as the East. The East attacks major corporations — for example, they dumped oil in the house of a CEO of a corporation that had a large oil spill. After going undercover for a while Jane manages to find the East — Benji is its leader, and Izzy is a member who’s suspicious of Jane. Jane is good at getting herself out of tough situations, but what will she do when she finds herself sympathizing with the East?<\/p>\n
The East<\/strong> was released earlier this year.<\/p>\n Brit Marling’s previous movies (as actor and co-writer) Another Earth<\/strong><\/a> and Sound of My Voice<\/strong><\/a> were intriguing but this one is morally challenging, gripping, and astonishing.<\/p>\n Watch it when you’re in the mood to pay attention and think.<\/p>\n The music is by Halli Cauthery (additional music on various movies like Hellboy II<\/strong>) and Harry Gregson-Williams (Gone Baby Gone<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n Brit Marling (Arbitrage<\/strong>) plays Jane, Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd (Melancholia<\/strong><\/a>) plays Benji, and Elliot Page (Juno<\/strong>) plays Izzy.<\/p>\n
