While their neighbours have died, Eep’s family has survived due to her father Grug’s strength and his rules for keeping them safe — they do the same things every day. But Eep wants more to life than just being alive, and she sneaks out of the cave and meets Guy, a stranger. Guy tells her that the end of the world is coming and they have to move. Can her family do the unthinkable and try something new?<\/p>\n
The Croods<\/strong> was released earlier this year.<\/p>\n The world is filled with interesting and beautiful landscapes, as well as fantastical and inventive creatures.<\/p>\n When Eep says she found something new, her family’s reaction is priceless. The part where the family is introduced to fire is also pretty funny.<\/p>\n The general structure might be predictable, but it’s clever and funny.<\/p>\n The music by Alan Silvestri (Flight<\/strong><\/a>) is playful and exciting. I particularly like the track “Prologue.”<\/p>\n Two voices you’ll recognize are Nicolas Cage (The Family Man<\/strong>) as Grug and Cloris Leachman (the TV show Raising Hope<\/strong><\/a>) as Gran. Emma Stone (The Help<\/strong>), Ryan Reynolds (Definitely, Maybe<\/strong>), and Catherine Keener (A Late Quartet<\/strong><\/a>) also provide voices.<\/p>\n The movie was directed by Kirk DeMicco (Space Chimps<\/strong>) and Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon<\/strong>).<\/p>\n A sequel has been announced.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" {4.5\/5} “He was a hunter, I was a gatherer.
