Meg, recently divorced,\u00a0and her daughter Sarah move into a new house in New York.\u00a0It happens to have a\u00a0panic room,\u00a0a safe room to hide in if there’s a home invasion. Meg’s nervous about the panic room but she uses it when a home invasion actually happens. The previous owner of the house had a fortune and no one knows where it is — the three men who broke in think it’s in the house, but they didn’t realize people are living there.<\/p>\n
Panic Room<\/strong> was released in 2002.<\/p>\n This is a great movie — gripping from beginning to end. Much of the movie is pretty intense, although there are moments of levity.<\/p>\n The characters of the home invaders — Burnham, Raoul, and Junior — are much more interesting than these types of characters usually are. They have to think of a way to get Meg and Sarah out of the panic room.<\/p>\n It’s a pleasure to watch Jodie Foster, as always.<\/p>\n The mysterious music is by Howard Shore (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n
