Jess’s family doesn’t have a lot of money and he’s getting hand-me-downs from his sisters. Leslie is new to the area — she joins his school class, and then he discovers that she lives next door. Jess likes to draw and run. Leslie has a way with words and is eager to try new things. They’re both having trouble relating to their parents and their schoolmates. They find their own special spot in the woods — an abandoned treehouse — which becomes the centre of the fantastical world of Terabithia.<\/p>\n
Bridge to Terabithia<\/strong> was released in 2007.<\/p>\n It’s about friendship, growing up, and imagination — it’s a great movie.<\/p>\n The fantastical creatures that Jess and Leslie imagine in the forest are depicted on screen — those parts are visually interesting.<\/p>\n The story takes a tragic turn two thirds of the way through.<\/p>\n The two main child actors, who I haven’t seen before, do a tremendous job.<\/p>\n The playful music is by Aaron Zigman (My Sister’s Keeper<\/strong>).<\/p>\n Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games<\/strong>) plays Jess and AnnaSophia Robb (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory<\/strong>) plays Leslie.<\/p>\n Zooey Deschanel (the TV show New Girl<\/strong><\/a>) plays music teacher Ms. Edmunds, Robert Patrick (the TV show The X-Files<\/strong>) plays Jess’s dad, and Bailee Madison (Young Snow White on the TV show Once Upon a Time<\/strong><\/a>) plays Jess’s sister May Belle.<\/p>\n The movie was directed by Gabor Csupo (The Secret of Moonacre<\/strong>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" {4.5\/5} “If you download any essay off of the Internet, you will be downloaded into detention.” Jess’s family doesn’t have a lot of money and he’s getting hand-me-downs from his sisters.
