She&#8217;s now a waitress &#8212; she has some interesting coworkers and customers. She finds a box of knick knacks hidden in her wall and vows to track down its owner. When successful, she embarks on a mission to do good things for other people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amelie<\/strong> was released in 2001. It&#8217;s one of my favourite movies, and I&#8217;ve seen it 3 or 4 times.<\/p>\n<p>It has a similar quirky sense of humour as Jean-Pierre Jeunet&#8217;s earlier movies <strong>Delicatessen<\/strong> and <strong>The City of Lost Children<\/strong>. There are many amazing details on screen, and it&#8217;s very funny.<\/p>\n<p>The story is populated by many unique characters &#8212; people who live in the same building as Amelie, people at the restaurant, and some in between.<\/p>\n<p>Audrey Tautou was a revelation the first time I saw this movie &#8212; she&#8217;s perfect as Amelie &#8212; and I&#8217;ve since seen her in several other movies.<\/p>\n<p>Like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/star-trek\/\"><strong>Star Trek<\/strong><\/a>, this movie will leave you feeling good about the world. It&#8217;s a beautiful movie, and if you haven&#8217;t seen it I encourage you to drop everything and watch it now.<\/p>\n<p>The exuberant\u00a0music is by Yann Tiersen (<strong>Good Bye Lenin!<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Audrey Tautou (<strong>A Very Long Engagement<\/strong>) plays Amelie.
