When your units get to a scene you sign off and they take over. But you don&#8217;t know. Did they make an arrest, shoot the bad guy, did the PR live, did she die?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jordan is a 911 operator. She&#8217;s good at her job but makes one mistake and the girl she was on the line with is killed by an intruder. Later she trains new operators &#8212; she tells them not to get emotionally involved with the callers. But can she follow her own advice? When a girl named Casey calls 911 from inside the trunk of a car, Jordan does everything she can to make sure she stays alive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Call<\/strong> was released in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;PR&#8221; stands for person reporting.<\/p>\n<p>We get to see things from a 911 operator&#8217;s point of view, which we don&#8217;t get to see too often.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s very intense, even more intense than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/gravity\/\"><strong>Gravity<\/strong><\/a>. It&#8217;s like an extended episode of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/law-order-svu-seasons-1-14\/\"><strong>Law &amp; Order SVU<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2014\/01\/man-on-fire\/\"><strong>Man on Fire<\/strong><\/a>, there are two good reasons to see this movie &#8212; Halley Berry and Abigail Breslin. They will make you believe in the reality of their situation.<\/p>\n<p>Halle Berry (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/cloud-atlas\/\"><strong>Cloud Atlas<\/strong><\/a>) plays Jordan and Abigail Breslin (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2013\/07\/janie-jones\/\"><strong>Janie Jones<\/strong><\/a>) plays Casey. Michael Eklund (<strong>The Divide<\/strong>) plays the man who kidnaps Casey.<\/p>\n<p>The movie was directed by Brad Anderson (<strong>Transsiberian<\/strong>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{5\/5} &#8220;A lot of times you don&#8217;t know how it ends.
