Coleman has quit his job as a professor and his wife has died. He befriends Nathan, a writer, initially hoping that he would write a book about him. He also begins a relationship with Faunia, a woman much younger than he is. Faunia has had a difficult life — her kids died in an accident and her ex-husband Lester, a Vietnam War vet, is less than stable.<\/p>\n

It’s a movie to watch if you’re looking for some great acting, particularly from Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman.<\/p>\n It’s not always a happy story, but it is an interesting one. There are some flashbacks to when Coleman was a young man, when he made a shocking decision.<\/p>\n It’s about loss, love, and race.<\/p>\n The gentle music is by Rachel Portman (The Lake House<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n Anthony Hopkins (Hearts in Atlantis<\/strong><\/a>) plays Coleman and Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge!<\/strong>) plays Faunia.
