Greg protests that&nbsp; they&#8217;re only acquaintances but his mom doesn&#8217;t budge. Rachel doesn&#8217;t particularly want to hang out with Greg, but they give it a try. They become good friends.<\/p>\n<p>Although Rachel&#8217;s situation is serious, much of the movie is screamingly funny. Greg is a very funny character, and so are his parents.<\/p>\n<p>One great part of the movie is that Greg and Earl have for years made movies whose titles are puns based on famous movie titles, like <strong>A Sockwork Orange<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a unique and beautiful movie.<\/p>\n<p>The young&nbsp; actors do a tremendous job &#8212; Thomas Mann, RJ Cyler, and Olivia Cooke.
