One of the astronauts, Mark, is presumed dead when his signal is lost. But he&#8217;s really still alive &#8212; and must survive alone on Mars until a rescue mission can be launched. But he doesn&#8217;t have enough food or water to survive that long.<\/p>\n<p>If Ridley Scott is directing a science fiction movie, you should really go see it on the big screen. I&#8217;m guessing this is the most realistic depiction of Mars in a movie.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a cross between <strong>Apollo 13<\/strong> and <strong>Cast Awa<\/strong>y. It&#8217;s exciting and funny.<\/p>\n<p>There are no bad guys and they use science to solve the problem.<\/p>\n<p>The Mars scenes were filmed in Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>Stars Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain. Directed by Ridley Scott (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2014\/12\/robin-hood\/\"><strong>Robin Hood<\/strong><\/a>).
