I repeat, stand down immediately, or we will fire!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Star Trek: The Next Generation &#8212; Takedown<\/strong> by John Jackson Miller, published in 2015<\/p>\n<p>Admiral Riker has been sent to a peace conference that will be attended by several Khitomer Accord powers and several Typhon Pact powers. When he returns he has a mission for Captain Dax and the Aventine &#8212; cross the border into Kinshaya space and destroy a station where they&#8217;ve developed a devastating computer virus called Takedown. Meanwhile, the Romulan delegate to the conference, Bretorius, commandeers a ship and attacks a Federation outpost &#8212; and the Enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a mystery through most of the book &#8212; why is Riker doing what he&#8217;s doing, or has he been replaced by a duplicate?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an exciting story that features Picard, Riker, and Dax. Troi, LaForge, and Worf also show up.<\/p>\n<p>Some sections are from the point of view of Bretorius.<\/p>\n<p>The book fits right in with other novels written by authors who have been doing it for years.<\/p>\n<p>The previous novel in the story of the 24th century is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/star-trek-deep-space-nine-the-missing\/\"><strong>Star Trek: Deep Space Nine &#8212; The Missing<\/strong><\/a>.
