This time it’s even more surprising since she was dead. But a military research ship has cloned her from blood samples. They didn’t particularly want her, though — they wanted the alien inside her. Regardless of their precautions, Ripley knows what will happen — they will die.

This is my 2nd favourite Alien movie to rewatch, after Aliens (most people will say the original Alien is a better movie but I find it a bit boring on rewatch).

Sigourney Weaver is brilliant as always.

The dialogue is hilarious — it was written by Joss Whedon (Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog).

The visuals are stunning — and, of course, in some cases gruesome.

I liked it a lot this time. I find that some movies grow on me — Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, and Star Trek: Nemesis are other examples of movies that on rewatch I’ll focus on the good parts.

Stars Winona Ryder, Ron Perlman, Dan Hedaya, and Dominique Pinon. The mysterious music by John Frizzell is terrific.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen it.

Although this is the last time Sigourney Weaver played Ripley, way back in 1997, if Neill Blomkamp’s Alien movie gets the greenlight she’ll be back once more.

{4.5/5} “‘So I heard you, like, ran into these things before… What did you do?’ ‘I died.’” Alien: Resurrection, released in 1997 Once again Ripley wakes up and it’s decades later.
