Star Trek: Deep Space Nine — Force and Motion<\/strong> by Jeffrey Lang, published in 2016<\/p>\n Years ago Captain Maxwell was court-martialed for ordering the destruction of a Cardassian ship. After being released from the penal colony he went to work as a maintenance engineer on a scientific station. When Miles O’Brien and Nog come for a visit, one of the experiments on the station goes a bit out of control — a mysterious being escapes its containment and forces an evacuation.<\/p>\n This is a slightly unusual Deep Space Nine<\/strong> novel, in that the only main characters who are featured are O’Brien and Nog. Captain Maxwell previously appeared in the Next Generation<\/strong> episode “The Wounded.”<\/p>\n It delves into the past of O’Brien, Nog, and Maxwell. O’Brien and Maxwell previously served together.<\/p>\n It’s a great story about friendship, redemption, and mysterious beings.<\/p>\n The previous novel in the story of the 24th century is Star Trek: DS9 \u2014 Ascendance<\/strong><\/a>.
