{"id":8721,"date":"2016-09-11T17:07:14","date_gmt":"2016-09-11T21:07:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/?p=8721"},"modified":"2016-09-11T17:07:14","modified_gmt":"2016-09-11T21:07:14","slug":"please-read-if-you-have-windows-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2016\/09\/please-read-if-you-have-windows-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Please read if you have Windows 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m not sure why this isn&#8217;t front page news.<\/p>\n<p>Not only did Microsoft <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2016\/07\/microsoft\/\">install Windows 10 without asking customers<\/a>, not only did they <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2016\/07\/microsoft-is-even-worse-than-i-thought\/\">add a bunch of shockingly horrible default privacy settings<\/a>, but they will reset those settings on you when you do an update.<\/p>\n<p>Bill Harris informs us on his blog below about this latest unbelievable action. He also points to a way to fix it &#8212; install a program called Spybot Anti-Beacon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dubiousquality.blogspot.ca\/2016\/08\/windows-10-privacy-update.html\">Windows 10 Privacy (update)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>People should be expressing their extreme displeasure towards Microsoft by boycotting Windows 10. To go back to Windows 7 or 8, you&#8217;ll likely have to reformat your hard drive &#8212; which isn&#8217;t a big deal, you just have to make sure you have all your important files backed up.<\/p>\n<p>If you do decide to keep Windows 10, please do whatever you need to do to ensure you&#8217;re not sending Microsoft any data you don&#8217;t want to send them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m not sure why this isn&#8217;t front page news.
