Star Trek: Legacies — Purgatory’s Key<\/strong> by Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore, released in 2016<\/p>\n Kirk has retrieved the Transfer Key, but not before more people were whisked away to the other realm — Sarek and Joanna McCoy. Kirk needs to get back to Usilde to rescue them as well as Captain Una and hopefully the rest of her team. But the planet is now under the control of the Klingons. Meanwhile, Sarek, Joanna, and Una are in the realm of the Jatohr and finding that it’s very different from anything else they’ve experienced.<\/p>\n This is the 3rd book in this trilogy, and it fittingly concludes the story. Although the books were written by different authors, the transitions are seamless.<\/p>\n In addition to the crew of the Enterprise we get to see Captain Una, Sarek, Amanda Grayson, Joanna McCoy, and Councillor Gorkon.<\/p>\n It’s about exploring a new realm, and communicating with prickly aliens.<\/p>\n I previously reviewed the 2nd book in the trilogy, Star Trek: Legacies \u2014 Best Defense<\/strong><\/a>.
