The Bourne Identity<\/strong>, released in 2002<\/p>\n A man is pulled out of the sea by fishermen. The doctor on board removes two bullets from the man’s back. When the man follows a clue to a bank in Switzerland he discovers that people are after him — it’s a secret and dangerous branch of the US government. But he’s dangerous too — although he doesn’t know it, he’s one of them.<\/p>\n It may be hard to remember now, but Matt Damon was not an action star when this movie was made. People were questioning his suitability for this role — but they didn’t question it once they saw the movie.<\/p>\n It’s one of the best action movies ever — not only superb action, but an interesting story. Hand-to-hand combat and car chase scenes are very realistic. Bourne is creative in defending himself and getting himself out of situations.<\/p>\n This movie is intriguing right from the beginning. Bourne is disturbed by what he finds out about himself. I like how he hasn’t slept in days but he trusts Marie enough to sleep in her car.<\/p>\n Loosely based on the novel by Robert Ludlum. Stars Franka Potente and Chris Cooper. Directed by Doug Liman (Mr. & Mrs. Smith<\/strong><\/a>). The music by John Powell fits well with the tense and mysterious situations.<\/p>\n This is the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve seen it.<\/p>\n
