Murdoch Mysteries (season 16)

{5/5} “The only way out of darkness is to bring the truth to light.” — Murdoch

Murdoch Mysteries season 16, aired in 2022-23

George leaves Effie at the altar, because of a premonition from one of his aunts. A man’s dog digs up a coffin, and the man in the coffin comes out and kills the man and his friend. A private detective is looking for Watts, but only Inspector Brackenreid knows where he’s gone and he’s not saying. Watts is actually in New York, and he gets drawn into a robbery at his neighbour’s. Brackenreid tracks down Mrs. Hart’s father’s coffin and finds that it’s empty.

William and Julia run into Llewelyn Watts in an unexpected place — a Mennonite colony.

Our heroes meet Rudyard Kipling, Edith Wharton, Lucy Maud Montgomery (again), and Edgar Rice Burroughs.

One episode is in black and white, just for fun — it’s a bit more melodramatic than usual.

Roger Cross plays Maurice Majors, Violet Hart’s father.

I previously reviewed season 15.
