If I Stay

{3.5/5} “There are two types of people in the world, Kim. Those who like real coffee, and those who like froufrou drinks with ridiculous names.”

If I Stay, released in 2014

Mia’s parents are rock and rollers but she prefers classical music — and plays the cello. When Mia is in a car crash she has an out of body experience and sees herself and her loved ones in the hospital. There are a bunch of flashbacks — I liked Mia’s relationship with her parents. The movie didn’t grab me quite as much as I expected it to, but it has its moments. I watched it in less than ideal conditions (on an airplane). ChloĆ« Grace Moretz stars.

Directed by R.J. Cutler (the documentary The World According to Dick Cheney).
