Agents of SHIELD (season 3)

{5/5} “I did see it, but I can’t really describe what it looked like. It’s more how it felt. Which is old and pained, as if it once had great power but lost it.”

Agents of SHIELD season 3, aired in 2015-16

Inhumans are being created at an increasing rate. SHIELD is able to grab one, but others have been grabbed by someone else — it’s top priority to figure out who. Fitz is obsessed with tracking down every possible lead to what happened to Simmons — but she’ll be very difficult to find as she’s far from Earth. Skye now goes by Daisy, Hunter is going after the man who tortured Bobbi, and Coulson is getting used to his bionic arm. May took a vacation and never came back. And Ward is rebuilding Hydra.

The first and second halves of the season were separated by a long break. During that break, season 2 of Agent Carter aired.

Somewhere along the way this show nudged up to a 5/5 show.

In a shocking turn of events, 2 members of the team are disavowed when they’re caught between a rock and a hard place in Russia. The episode that showed what happened when Simmons went through the portal was stunning.

The season ends with a bang, and there’s a couple of scenes at the very end that will leave you guessing what’s going on over the summer.

Stars Nick Blood, Adrianne Palicki, and Luke Mitchell.

William Sadler guest stars as the President of the United States. Powers Boothe and Adrian Pasdar also show up.

I previously reviewed season 2.
