I came across a website that has hundreds of fascinating letters from throughout history. The letters are serious, mysterious, and funny.

Here’s an astonishing letter written by a freed slave to his former master:

Here’s a brilliant letter written by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. to a school board head who burned his book Slaughterhouse-Five:

There’s a letter from Gandhi to Hitler, a letter from Barack Obama to a kid with 2 dads, a letter from Beethoven to his “immortal beloved,” a letter from Douglas Adams to a movie studio executive, and several letters back and forth between Gene Roddenberry and Isaac Asimov.
