TV show creators worth knowing about, part 3

This list continues from part 2.

Adam Horowitz & Edward Kitsis

Horowitz and Kitsis have been writing partners for years. They created the show Once Upon a Time and, along with a couple of other people, its spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. They wrote a bunch of episodes for those shows as well as Lost. They also wrote episodes of other shows such as Birds of Prey and Dead of Summer.

Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci

This is another writing partnership — recently they’ve said going forward they’ll work on movies separately and TV shows together. Kurtzman and Orci worked with J.J. Abrams on several projects and created Fringe with him. They wrote for TV shows Hercules, Xena, and Alias. They wrote the movies Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Ender’s Game. On the other hand, they also wrote The Island and Cowboys & Aliens. Kurtzman is working on the upcoming TV show Star Trek: Discovery. Orci created the TV show Matador which lasted one season.

Jeffrey Lieber

Lieber was one of the creators of Lost, but he didn’t exactly work with the others — they took his ideas and made changes. He co-wrote the movies Tuck Everlasting and Tangled. Lieber also worked on the TV shows Miami Medical and Necessary Roughness. He is currently the showrunner on NCIS: New Orleans.

Damon Lindelof

Lindelof was the co-creator of Lost. He wrote many episodes of that show as well as Nash Bridges and Crossing Jordan. He’s currently working on The Leftovers. He co-wrote movies Star Trek Into Darkness and Tomorrowland but also Cowboys & Aliens and Prometheus.

Joseph Mallozzi

Mallozzi co-created Dark Matter with the next person on the list. Mallozzi and Mullie created Dark Matter as a comic book before it was turned into a TV show. Previously he was a writer and producer on all 3 Stargate TV shows. He also wrote for many other shows.

Paul Mullie

Mullie co-created Dark Matter, both in comic book and TV show form, with the previous person on the list. Prior to that he wrote a bunch of episodes of Stargate SG-1, as well as Stargate Atlantis and Largo Winch.

Maurissa Tancharoen

Tancharoen co-created Agents of SHIELD. She wrote episodes of Dollhouse, and also acted in a few episodes. Tancharoen co-wrote Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. She’s worked on Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Drop Dead Diva. She’s also married to the next person on the list.

Jed Whedon

Whedon co-created Agents of SHIELD. He wrote episodes of Dollhouse and co-wrote Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Whedon has worked on Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Drop Dead Diva. He’s also married to the previous person on the list, and he’s Joss Whedon’s brother.
