Skyfall

{4.5/5} “One can never be too careful when handsome men in tuxedos carry Walthers.”

Skyfall, released in 2012

James Bond is chasing someone who’s stolen a list of undercover agents. He’s shot, and takes some time to recover. Because of the loss of the list, M is being forced to resign in 2 months. Eventually the trail leads to a former agent who’s out to get the person who wronged him — M.

It’s not only a terrific James Bond movie, but also a beautiful movie. It didn’t wow me quite as much as it did the first time but it’s full of great moments.

The beginning is perfect and the ending is perfect. There are one or two problems in between* but on the whole it’s amazing.

Filming locations include the UK, Turkey, and Japan.

Stars Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, and Naomie Harris. Directed by Sam Mendes (Away We Go). The music by Thomas Newman and title song by Adele are both brilliant.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it. My previous review is here.

I also previously reviewed Quantum of Solace.

Spoiler alert

*One thing that bugged me this time was Q plugging Silva’s computer into the MI6 network. There’s a zero per cent chance that he would do this.
