The Theory of Everything

{5/5} “Your glasses are always dirty.”

The Theory of Everything, released in 2014

Stephen Hawking is a physics student and Jane Wilde is an arts student at Cambridge in 1963. Just as they start to pursue a romance, Stephen finds out that he has motor neuron disease. The doctor gives him only 2 years to live. Stephen doesn’t want Jane to be hurt by his disease but she insists they’ll fight it together.

It’s a wonderful movie about an extraordinary couple.

It’s about love, determination, and new thoughts about the universe.

One more quotation: “There should be no boundaries to human endeavor.”

It’s based on a memoir by Jane Hawking.

Stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. Directed by James Marsh (Project Nim). The music is by Jóhann Jóhannsson.

I read Hawking’s book A Brief History of Time decades ago but I may not have understood it all.
