Pitch Perfect 3

{4.5/5} “‘Well, I just got kicked out of flight school for killing 300 fake people.’ ‘I hate fake people.'”

Pitch Perfect 3, released in 2017

The Bellas who have graduated all have disappointing jobs. They get back together to sing at a USO tour in Europe. It turns out to be a competition — the winner gets to open for DJ Khaled. The other groups all have instruments and are very polished. Plus the Bellas accidentally destroy DJ Khaled’s hotel suite.

There’s a bit of plot, having to do with the contest and fathers and romantic interests. But it’s mostly a bunch of terrific songs and funny moments. Their rendition of George Michael’s “Freedom ’90” is particularly memorable.

There are some hilarious parts, and it’s nice to see old friends again. During the credits you can see how much fun they had making the movie.

Stars Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, and Anna Camp. Directed by Trish Sie (Step Up All In). The soundtrack is filled with delightful songs you’ll be tapping your toes to.

I previously reviewed Pitch Perfect 2.
