{4/5} “What’s the world coming to when our murderers won’t tell us who they are?”

Anon, released in 2018

What everyone sees all the time is stored in computers, so crime is extremely rare. When a man is killed with a bullet between the eyes, Sal goes to investigate. He finds that the killer hacked into the dead man’s eyes so they don’t know who they are. Then he finds that there’s more than one victim.

The premise is terrific. The story isn’t quite as gripping as I thought it would be.

It’s about dealing with a master hacker in a world where everything can be hacked.

Stars Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried. Directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca).
