The Crossing (season 1)

{4.5/5} “If you tell the truth about where we’re from, we will become a commodity. There are many wonderful things about this time but it isn’t without dangers, and we have to be very careful. No one can know the truth.”

The Crossing season 1, aired in 2018

A small town sheriff finds a bunch of refugees on his shore — 47 survivors and even more dead. They claim to be from the future, where there is a war going on. They call our time period “the Long Peace.” They’re running from enhanced humans known as Apex, one of whom arrived with them.

When I started watching this show, I felt the way I did when I started watching Lost.

It’s gripping — the first episode will make you want to find out what happens.

Unfortunately with only 11 episodes it’s already been cancelled.

Stars Steve Zahn, Sandrine Holt, and Georgina Haig. Created by Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin (also co-creators of Matador).
