Trump and Putin’s press conference

Here’s how the Washington Post described Trump and Putin’s press conference in Helsinki:

Trump just colluded with Russia. Openly.

Here’s the New York Times on the response to the press conference:

Republicans Rebuke Trump for Siding With Putin as Democrats Demand Action

Whether Putin is holding something over Trump or not, Trump clearly sided with Russia over the US in that press conference.

Republican lawmakers should have been at the White House today demanding the resignation of Donald Trump. Instead, the ones who usually criticize Trump criticized him again and most of the others did nothing or gave weak statements.

The fact that they weren’t demanding his resignation means it’s time for true conservatives to give up on the Republican Party.

True conservatives should form a new party.

The names “Trump” and “Republican” should be shunned for a hundred years.

The only good thing to come out of Donald Trump being president is that he may have, inadvertently, paved the way for other — hopefully more competent and trustworthy — outsiders. Years in the future that may be seen as a positive but it’s difficult to get too excited about it right now.

Meanwhile, one of the good presidents was giving a speech to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s birth. President Obama said:

“Keep believing, keep marching, keep building, keep raising your voice, every generation has the opportunity to remake the world.”

Here’s an article from CBC:

Obama throws shade on Trump while exalting Mandela
