About Time

{5/5} “Don’t call too often. Your mother doesn’t like to be disturbed.”

About Time, released in 2013

Tim had a relatively normal childhood, but when he turns 21 his father tells him something astonishing — the men in the family can travel through time. Tim thinks he’s joking at first but when he tries it out he finds he’s successful — he can travel to any point in the past where he existed the first time around. Tim’s got a good job as a lawyer, so he sets out to find himself a partner — when he runs into Mary he knows she’s the one.

It’s hilarious and moving.

Stars Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson. Directed by Richard Curtis (writer on Notting Hill). The gentle piano music is by Nick Laird-Clowes.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it. My earlier review is here.
