Interstellar

{5/5} “The only thing that can move across dimensions like time is gravity.”

Interstellar, released in 2014

Cooper was a pilot, until the world didn’t need pilots any more. It needed farmers, so he became a farmer. Until a gravity anomaly led him to a top-secret facility — NASA — where they want him to go on a mission. A mission through a wormhole to find a new planet where humans can live. The only problem — he must leave his kids behind.

It’s visually stunning. The robots TARS and CASE are pretty funny.

It’s about love and science, bravery and cowardice.

It’s thrilling, sad, and fascinating.

This is a long movie, but you won’t be bored for a second. It’s not a perfect movie, but it is a brilliant one.

Young actor Mackenzie Foy makes a big impression — I haven’t seen her in anything else yet but hopefully she’ll be in a movie worth watching soon.

Stars John Lithgow, Michael Caine, Ellen Burstyn, Jessica Chastain, and Matt Damon. Directed by Christopher Nolan (Inception). The majestic music is by Hans Zimmer.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it. My earlier review is here.
