Toy Story 2

{5/5} “But I don’t want to use my head!”

Toy Story 2, released in 1999

Woody’s arm gets accidentally ripped, and then Andy doesn’t want to play with him — and doesn’t take him to cowboy camp. Then one of the toys’ worst fears comes — a yard sale. Woody goes out with the dog to rescue Wheezy and gets stolen by Al from Al’s Toy Barn, who wants Woody to complete a set of toys that are valuable. Buzz and the rest of the toys then mount a rescue operation to get Woody back.

This movie takes what was established in the first movie and builds on it to create its own unique story.

It’s about old friends and new friends.

I love the moment when we see that the airport luggage tractor and wagons are parked across the street from Andy’s house.

Stars the voices of Wallace Shawn, Joan Cusack, Kelsey Grammer, and Wayne Knight. Directed by John Lasseter (Toy Story). Randy Newman adds a western flavour to his Toy Story music, and the song “When She Loved Me” is magnificent.

The “outtakes” played over the credits are also hilarious.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve seen it.
