Star Trek: The Next Generation (season 7)

Star Trek: The Next Generation season 7, aired in 1993-94
Captain Picard is declared dead when he’s seen being vaporized in a bar — Riker vows to find out what happened, leading him to mercenaries after an ancient Vulcan weapon. When Lwaxana Troi falls unconscious, Deanna discovers that her mother had been keeping a secret from the past locked up inside her. When Juliana Tainer come aboard she reveals that she was Dr. Noonien Soong’s wife when Data was created — in other words, she’s Data’s mother. When Worf returns from a bat’leth tournament he eventually realizes that he’s not in the same universe but a parallel one.
This is the last season.
If forced to name my favourite show ever, I will name this one. My favourite character is Data.
This season isn’t quite as brilliant overall as the previous 4 — there are a bunch of terrific episodes but also a surprising number of mediocre ones. The writers were obviously running out of steam.
I’m a much bigger fan of Wesley Crusher as Starfleet cadet than Wesley Crusher as Traveler. It just doesn’t make sense — he’s a human, so how did he get these special powers?
One more quotation: “Five card stud. Nothing wild. And the sky’s the limit.”
In “The Pegasus” Riker is caught been his former captain, now an admiral, who tells him to keep a secret from his current captain. In “Lower Decks” we get to see things from the perspective of some junior officers — and one of them goes on a dangerous mission. The finale “All Good Things…” is glorious, with the exception of one glaring logical flaw in the middle.
On the other hand, you can skip “Sub Rosa” — definitely the worst episode in the last 5 seasons. It seems like an episode from some other show — and not even a science fiction one.

This is the 2nd time I’ve watched it.
