The Mandalorian (season 2)

{4.5/5} “‘There’s no such thing as an abandoned Sarlacc pit.’ ‘There is if you eat the Sarlacc.'”

The Mandalorian season 2, aired in 2020

The Mandalorian is attempting to take the child to others of its kind. In order to do that, he’s looking for other Mandalorians to help him. He hears about one on Tatooine, but when he gets there he finds it’s a marshal who is wearing Mandalorian armor. They make a deal — the Mandalorian helps him kill the Krayt Dragon, and the marshal will return the armor.

This season expands the story delightfully while incorporating some visits with old friends. The season finale will leave you with your mouth hanging open* — note there’s also a scene after the credits of this episode.**

It’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan, as this series is returning and there are other series in the works.

Guest stars include Michael Biehn, Rosario Dawson, Amy Sedaris, Gina Carano, and Giancarlo Esposito. Temuera Morrison plays Boba Fett — he previously played Jango Fett in the prequel movies.

I previously reviewed season 1.

Spoiler alert

*The ultimate guest star, Mark Hamill, reprises his role as Luke Skywalker with some de-aging.

**It sets up the situation for a spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett.
