Star Trek: The Amazing Stories

{5/5} “It is not possible for me to be with you today to honor my father. I am far away on a mission to promote galactic peace. My mission honors my father’s memory. Sarek and I often did not agree. Everyone knows that. And yet… he is the reason I am where I am today.” (from “Last Words”)

Star Trek: The Amazing Stories by M. Shayne Bell et al, published in 2002

In “Last Words” Captain Picard is at Sarek’s memorial service. Spock is on Romulus, but surely he would find a way to honour his father at this time. In “Life Itself Is Reason Enough” the Enterprise is participating in an emergency evacuation effort. With so many ships involved and communication spotty, a ship exploding knocks Worf and Deanna’s shuttle hurtling into the planet. In “When Push Comes to Shove” Voyager rescues some T’kari from a ship that’s about to explode. They are wandering musicians, and they have a child with them who has a gift some people view as dangerous.

This is a short book but packed with great TNG and VOY stories. These stories were originally published in the magazine Amazing Stories.

Authors include A. C. Crispin, Greg Cox, Christie Golden, and Josepha Sherman & Susan Schwartz.

This is the 2nd time I’ve read it.
