Hawkeye

{5/5} “They’re not regular arrows.”

Hawkeye, aired in 2021

After Hawkeye saves her from the Chitauri in the Battle of New York, Kate Bishop learns archery herself. Years later she obtains the outfit that he wore when he was Ronin, and wears it while trying to do some good — and then he comes looking for her. When she takes him back to her place, some bad guys who don’t like Ronin follow them and burn the place. They rush out without the Ronin suit, but when Clint goes back for it it’s gone.

This is a 6-part miniseries. You should watch Black Widow before watching it.

The banter between Clint and Kate is delightful. There’s some great bow and arrow action.

It’s about what happens when the only person who can help you with your current case is someone who reminds you of someone close to you who died. It’s about the benefits and drawbacks of being a hero.

All of the multiple storylines come to satisfying conclusions. Hopefully we will see 1 or 2 of these characters again.

The playful music is by Christophe Beck and Michael Paraskevas.

Guest stars include Florence Pugh, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Linda Cardellini.

Stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, and Vera Farmiga.

Created by Jonathan Igla (writer on Mad Men).
