3rd Rock from the Sun (season 6)

{4.5/5} “‘Ragamuffin’? Sally, throw him out. Harry, bring me a dictionary.”

3rd Rock from the Sun season 6, aired in 2000-01

When Mary’s sister Renata comes to town Dick pretends to woo her in order to break her heart and get revenge for Mary. When they go to a parallel dimension they find they live in New York — Dick is a lawyer, Harry is president of NBC, Tommy works for SNL and is somehow in charge, Sally writes a sex column, and Don is the mayor. Tommy decides to go to college — of course, Dick wants him to go to Pendleton. As soon as Tommy is on the stairs on his way out the door to college, Sally and Harry start interviewing for a replacement on the team.

This is the last season.

Like many comedies, it eventually lost some of its oomph. Nevertheless, 6 years is a great run.

The finale wraps things up nicely, and there’s even an alternate ending on the DVD.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt actually went to college during this season, so he was gone for some episodes.

Guest stars include Megan Mullally and Michael McShane. Richard Belzer and Tracy Morgan have fun cameos.

David DeLuise plays Bug, Danielle Nicolet plays Caryn, and Chris Hogan plays Pitman — all of whom are Dick’s students. Ron West plays Dr. Vincent Strudwick, a colleague of Dick and Mary’s who also happens to be Alissa’s father.

I previously reviewed season 5.
