Jerry and Marge Go Large

{5/5} “Let’s be a little stupid. We got married when we were 17, so we know how to do it.”

Jerry and Marge Go Large, released in 2022

Jerry retires from working 42 years at the cereal plant. His kids give him a boat as a retirement gift but he’s hesitant to use it. Being smarter at math than the average person, he stumbles upon something startling about the lottery — if you play enough tickets at the right time,  you’re guaranteed to win. Even his accountant doesn’t believe him, but it’s true. When that lottery ends in Michigan Jerry and Marge drive all the way to Massachusetts to bet big.

This movie is based on a true story.

It’s very funny. It’s about people who know numbers, and people who know people.

Bryan Cranston and Annette Bening are brilliant, as always.

Stars Rainn Wilson, Larry Wilmore, and Michael McKean. Directed by David Frankel (Collateral Beauty). The playful music is by Jake Monaco.
