Birds of Prey

{4.5/5} “I’m telling you, if you want boys to respect you, you have to show them you’re serious. Blow something up. Shoot someone.”

Birds of Prey aka Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, released in 2020

Harley Quinn and the Joker have broken up. While drunk, she decides to blow up Ace Chemicals, thereby announcing the breakup. She then realizes that a bunch of people are after her, now that she doesn’t have the Joker’s protection. She’s also on the hunt for a very special diamond, which is at the police station because a kid pickpocketed it.

If you’re in the right mood, this movie is very funny.

Harley Quinn’s gymnastic fighting style is more interesting than most people’s. There are some nice stunts.

There was one superpower introduced only at the moment when it was needed. Other than that, I liked it a lot.

Stars Margot Robbie, Rosie Perez, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ewan McGregor. Directed by Cathy Yan (Dead Pigs). The soundtrack is filled with in-your-face songs.

The previous movie in the DCEU I watched is Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
