Orbiter 9

{3.5/5} “I know this is going to sound crazy to you, but we’re not where you think.”

Orbiter 9, released in 2017

Helena is on a colony ship, alone and running out of oxygen — she only has the computer to keep her company. But a ship with an engineer is coming. Her parents left her in order to give her a better chance of surviving. When the ship arrives, the man on it is the first human she’s seen in years.

This is a Spanish movie.

There’s a twist, which turns the story into a different kind than you were expecting.

It’s about sacrificing for the greater good, allowing your feelings to interrupt your work, and exploring the new world you find yourself in.

I liked the story in general, but there were a few things that didn’t make sense and questions left unanswered.

Stars Clara Lago and Álex González. Directed by Hatem Khraiche (writer of The Hidden Face).
