The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry

{5/5} “Sometimes books don’t find us until the right time.”

The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, released in 2022

A. J. Fikry owns a bookstore. He had a copy of a rare book that he was planning to auction off and retire on the proceeds. But someone stole it. Or maybe he did something to it in a drunken stupor, which is the condition he’s in every evening since his wife died. After a scare, Fikry’s doctor tells him to start exercising — and he does.

It’s based on the book.

It’s about books, and love. I like how the side characters have their own lives.

Stars Kunal Nayyar, Christina Hendricks, Lucy Hale, and David Arquette. Directed by Hans Canosa (Conversations with Other Women). The playful music is by Jeff Eden Fair and Starr Parodi.
