Tangled

{4.5/5} “‘How did you find me?’ ‘Oh, it was easy, really, I just listened to the sound of complete and utter betrayal and followed that.'”

Tangled, released in 2010

When Rapunzel’s mother reveals that she can never leave the tower, Rapunzel resolves to do just that. Flynn Rider, fleeing from justice, comes across her tower by accident. With her mother away, she makes a deal with Flynn. He will take her to see the lanterns that fill the sky once a year, and then she’ll give him back his satchel — which contains the crown he stole.

It’s a Disney movie with glorious animation and a charming main character.

This movie is hilarious. Rapunzel’s pet chameleon, Pascal, doesn’t talk but he’s a terrific character.

I like how Maximus the horse is an important part of the story.

The songs are brilliant, such as “When Will My Life Begin.”

There’s a bit of a deus ex machina at the end.

Stars the voices of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, and Donna Murphy. Directed by Nathan Greno (head of story on Bolt) and Byron Howard (Encanto). The delightful music is by Alan Menken, and he wrote the songs with Glenn Slater.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it.
