The Bourne Legacy
{5/5} “You were given a Ferrari and your people treated it like a lawnmower.”
The Bourne Legacy, released in 2012
Aaron Cross is part of a top-secret CIA program that requires him to swallow pills every day. He’s lost his pills so he’s heading back to civilization — the first person he meets is a fellow operative who doesn’t say much. When a drone unexpectedly returns, Cross runs out of the house just before it’s destroyed. It turns out the program is being cancelled, and all the assets are being eliminated.
When you watch this one right after the 1st 3 movies, it fits in brilliantly to the series. A bunch of characters from the series appear, either in present day or flashbacks.
It might not be as iconic as the movies with Bourne, but it’s terrific movie. It has fine action, and a main character who just wants to live.
Some parts were filmed in South Korea and the Philippines.
Stars Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac. Directed by Tony Gilroy (creator of Andor). The music is by James Newton Howard — the end credits are the most interesting part.
This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it. My previous review is here.
The previous movie in the series is The Bourne Ultimatum.
