Grumpier Old Men

{4.5/5} “Holy moly.”

Grumpier Old Men, released in 1995

When John and Max find out that the bait shop is going to turn into an Italian restaurant, they vow to stop it. But the new owner turns out to be a woman, Maria, and Max falls for her. John’s daughter Melanie and Max’s son Jacob are getting married. John and Max both want to catch Catfish Hunter, the most notorious fish in the area.

This is the sequel to Grumpy Old Men.

It’s about how you’re never too old for love.

Behind the scenes tidbit: A third film was planned, with the inevitable title Grumpiest Old Men, but when two other movies featuring Lemmon and Matthau performed poorly it was cancelled.

Stars Sophia Loren, Daryl Hannah, and Kevin Pollak. Directed by Howard Deutch (The Odd Couple II). Alan Silvestri returns with the music.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen it.
