Grumpy Old Men

{4.5/5} “‘Moron.’ ‘Putz.'”

Grumpy Old Men, released in 1993

John and Max have been neghbours for years. They’re sort of friends and sort of not. They both like to go ice fishing in the winter. When a dazzling woman moves in across the street, they both fall for her. While Ariel likes Max, she’s more interested in John — she invites herself over to his house.

It’s about the joys and sorrows of getting older. It’s about what happens when you have a feud for decades.

It’s lots of fun.

There are some funny outtakes at the end.

Stars Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Ann-Margret, and Burgess Meredith. Directed by Donald Petrie (Miss Congeniality). The music is by Alan Silvestri.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen it.
