I’ll Follow You Down

{4/5} “Every time I try to commit to this life, something tells me that I shouldn’t.”

I’ll Follow You Down aka Continuum, released in 2013

When Gabriel doesn’t return from a conference, Marika gets worried and calls the hotel. He’s still checked in — he’s not in his room but his stuff is there. Her Dad, Sal, met him the day before but no one has seen him since. When days go by and there’s no word, she’s not sure what to think. Years later Sal reveals to his grandson Erol that Gabriel went back in time to 1946.

It’s about, from one point of view, righting a wrong, and from another point of view, erasing something great.

It has fine actors, but the script doesn’t quite add up to a great movie.

Stars Gillian Anderson, Rufus Sewell, Victor Garber, and Haley Joel Osment. Directed by Richie Mehta (Amal). The mysterious music is by Andrew Lockington.
